To be, not to appear.

My soul has no skin. We exist in this dimension, but we'll be forever.

Lia Proti borns in Italy in 1997, where she graduates in Decoration for Art, Environment and Architecture.

After an artistic period in Hamburg (Germany), where she had the opportunity to work alongside the artist Sabela Garcia Cuesta and to conclude some personal street art projects, she temporarily returned to Italy and graduated as a stage technician at the Bologna Opera School.

She began working as a set designer and theater technician, traveling between Portugal and Italy, working ironically for two diametrically opposed but not so different worlds: the Opera in Italy and the psy-trance music festival Boom Festival. In both she worked as a designer and builder.

At the beginning of 2024, after a long trip to Asia for a personal artistic research project, she decided to move permanently to Lisbon where she currently lives and works, and where her atelier is located.

Art has no limits, that's why I don't like to consider myself just in one role. I'm a set designer, I'm a theater technician, I'm an art director, I'm a visual artist, I'm a writer, I am an explorer.

I am what I like to do most.
