Lia (b. 1997) is an Italian artist based in Lisbon. She works as a freelance set designer and art director while developing her personal artistic practice in her studio. She is the co-founder of Bacco Studio and has experience in theatre, music festivals, and gallery work.
Her practice as a space designer focuses on shaping open and shared environments such as festivals, exhibition venues, theatre stages, and public spaces into immersive and engaging experiences. She develops playful installations alongside exhibition design, lighting concepts, and the curation of cohesive visual identities for events and festivals. Her work also extends to unique table designs and gastronomic installations, while overseeing the artistic direction within broader event production contexts.
Her personal visual artistic practice spans painting, scenography, and installation, combining pictorial elements with textile, wood, and metal structures. Her work explores the body as a site of tension between materiality and intangibility, investigating emotional states through experimental visual languages.
Rooted in personal and introspective research, her projects address themes such as trauma, identity, and transformation. A central focus is womanhood and female identity, examining the relationship between body and soul, and challenging cultural perceptions of the female body.
Through her work, Lia reflects on vulnerability, resilience, and the human condition, creating spaces for sensory dialogue and collective reflection.
As art director and co-founder of Bacco Studio, she develops and oversees the creative vision of projects, shaping cohesive visual narratives across different formats. Her work combines spatial design, aesthetics, and storytelling, guiding projects from concept to execution while ensuring a strong and distinctive identity tailored to each context.
